How One Zo minimizes queue times with KioskBuddy

One Zo is a bubble tea brand from Taiwan established in 2015, and they were the first cafe in the US to make boba pearls in house in 2018. They frequently rotate unique designs and new flavors of boba. One Zo’s goals are to serve the freshest boba drinks to the world, to use creativity to develop more new boba flavors, and to promote the One Zo spirit - the pursuit of excellence. They’ve been rapidly expanding in the US with five locations and counting!

The Problem

Since opening, One Zo’s Monterey Park location found themselves with a ton of success with lines out the door being extremely common. When asked why they started using KioskBuddy, here's what One Zo had to say:

“We’ve noticed some customers take a long time to order, while others in the queue already know exactly what they want. Meanwhile our staff assigned to making drinks would be patiently waiting for the next order to come in. The Solution

One Zo started using KioskBuddy to assist with their overall point of sale process. Customers can order directly from an iPad Pro and easily customize their drinks with the many customizations that One Zo offers, everything from the sweetness levels of the drink to the type of boba used. Once finished ordering, customers can pay right at the iPad with a credit card, and their order is sent to the kitchen staff. They also get a receipt on a Star Micronics printer that the One Zo team connected to KioskBuddy. Check out their setup!

The Results

KioskBuddy saved a ton of time for both employees and customers, especially when the cafe got busy. Here’s what One Zo had to say about how well it was working:

“I did a breakdown one day to see how well the kiosk was working. We had 41 orders on the kiosk. If we say it took a minimum of 2 minutes each, that means we saved our employees 82 minutes just from the one kiosk. That was more revenue for us during rush hour, when customers would have just passed us by if the line was too long.”
