How do I connect my Square Reader for contactless and chip?

If you are using a Square Reader for contactless and chip, you will need to connect it from the KioskBuddy app.

How to Connect your Square Reader for Contactless and Chip

1. Open the KioskBuddy app on your iPad.

2. Navigate to the kiosk configuration screen (the one just before starting kiosk mode). If you're in kiosk mode, follow these steps to exit kiosk mode.

3. Scroll down and find the "Optional: Connect to a Square Chip Reader" section.

4. Tap CONNECT TO A SQUARE READER and follow the on screen instructions.

Note: If your Square Reader is connected to the dock, you will need to remove it to access the buttons in order to connect it to KioskBuddy.

How to Release the Square Reader from the Dock

1. Looking at "the back" of the dock, you should see a small notch about one inch above where the USB cord leads out of the dock.

2. Place your finger in the notch to gently pull up on the detachable piece that runs across the top part of the reader.

3. Slide out the Contactless and Chip Card Reader.

4. Clip the detachable piece back into the dock for safe keeping.
