If you're a food and beverage based business, you may consider using a Kitchen Display System (KDS) as a digital solution over physical receipts. KioskBuddy supports FreshKDS.
Open Fresh KDS on your device.
Go to Settings > General > Select Treat KDS as Printer.
Open KioskBuddy on your 2nd device.
Ensure you are on the KioskBuddy Configuration Home Screen.
If you are in Kiosk Mode, exit out of Kiosk Mode.
Scroll down and find Optional: Select printers for receipts. KioskBuddy should automatically detect Fresh KDS if it is open. Tap the Search for Printers to retry the connection if the KDS is not appearing.
Tap the checkbox next to "KDS". The name should appear in a format similar to the following: "KDS: TCP: <IP address>".
By using Orders API, Fresh KDS will automatically receive KioskBuddy orders once they are completed. There is no connection setup needed to KioskBuddy since Fresh KDS will retrieve the orders from your Square account.
Navigate to your Fresh KDS Admin Dashboard.
Go to Brand Integrations > Push Create New Integration > Select Square.
Select KDS Orders for Connect Supported Options > Push Set Up > Log in to your Square account to complete the setup.
Open Fresh KDS on your device.
Go to Settings > General > Point of Sale System > Select Square POS/Register.
Go to Settings > General > Integration Type > Select Use Orders API.
Fresh KDS can send customers SMS text message notifications when an order is complete, and KioskBuddy can be configured to support this! What you will want to do is set up a Phone Number Checkout Flow step and enable the option to Pass phone number to kitchen display systems, as seen below in red.
Please keep in mind this will only be available if you're subscribed to the Premium Plan or higher.
With this active, when you close out the ticket, it'll send the customer a text message. Please note, you won't see the phone number in Fresh KDS though, so you're free to use other checkout flow steps like an order name to identify the order as well.
