The Kiosks page on the Dashboard allows you to manage and view all of your active kiosks in realtime, without having to be at the kiosk. From this view, you can see info such as the current screen the customer is on, live cart items, what payment devices are connected, and more! You can also make changes to your device settings from this view.
In the main view, you can see how many kiosks are currently active for your KioskBuddy account, as well as the information about all of your kiosks in realtime. This view can be accessed from the Dashboard > Kiosks. You can use the filters to find kiosks with specific statuses or kiosks at specific locations.
A summary for each kiosk will be displayed:
Location: The selected location for the active kiosk.
Kiosk Name: The device name set for the active kiosk.
Kiosk Session ID: The session ID for the active kiosk.
Active Since: The timestamp that the kiosk was started in kiosk mode.
App Version: The KioskBuddy app version of the active kiosk.
To temporarily prevent your customers from ordering on the kiosk, you can use the Pause Ordering button which can be found from the Dashboard > Kiosks. This will display a paused screen to your customers, with a customizable message set by you. If a customer is in the middle of checking out, they’ll still be able to complete their checkout. The kiosk will be paused upon completion of that order. If the kiosk is otherwise in an idle state, the paused screen will immediately take effect.
After pushing the Pause Ordering button, you can enter a message to display to your customer.
The kiosk will show a screen like the screenshot below.
You can click on the name of your kiosk to bring up the Kiosk Status Monitor page. From this view, you can see additional details about the selected active kiosk and make changes to your device settings. This view can be accessed from the Dashboard > Kiosks > "Your Kiosk Name".
Here's what you'll find in this view:
Information about the active kiosk including location, kiosk name, kiosk session ID, active since timestamp, and app version. See the Active Kiosks section for more descriptions on these properties.
Most device settings on your iPad can be controlled remotely in the dashboard, like selected menu, device name, payment settings, tip settings, etc. The only thing that can't be configured remotely is specialized hardware tasks like connecting a Square Reader or searching for printers.
For example, if you're not physically at one of your locations but need to turn on gift card entry, you can change the settings here in this Settings section on the dashboard and the setting will be updated on your kiosk.
Payment Devices: The connected Square payment device(s) for the active kiosk.
Printers: The connected printer(s) for the active kiosk. You can disable or enable any printers and configure the settings.
Current Screen: The current screen that your customer is viewing on the active kiosk.
Cart Items: A live status of the cart items on your active kiosk. You can even manually remove items from the customer's cart here.
These are some actions that you can perform on your active kiosk.
Reset Kiosk Session: This button can be used to completely reset the kiosk's session, clearing cart items, subtotals, taxes, totals, discounts, service charges, loyalty accounts, and promo codes. Useful in case your kiosk somehow gets stuck in a corrupted state.
Pause Ordering: This button can be used to temporarily pause ordering. See the Pause Ordering section for more details.
Test Readers: Use this button to test reader connectivity. Lights will flash on all connected Square Readers and Square Stands.
