  • How to upgrade or downgrade KioskBuddy on TestFlight

We use TestFlight for beta testing KioskBuddy. It's Apple's official app for developers like us to beta test our apps! If you take part in any of our beta tests for new KioskBuddy releases, you can upgrade or downgrade freely to different versions of the app that are available on TestFlight. Upgrading gets you the latest and greatest KioskBuddy features, while downgrading can be particularly useful if you're running into an issue in the latest version that we're working on fixing.

How to Upgrade

Upgrading your beta version to the latest one available is super straightforward. Simply open up the TestFlight app, and if you're not on the latest version available, the app will automatically show you that there's an update to install. Check out the boxed sections in red below:

We strongly recommend turning on the Automatic Updates setting to ensure you're always on the latest version of the beta, as seen below in red. Unfortunately Apple forces all TestFlight builds to expire after 90 days, no way around that, so keeping this setting on means you won't need to remember to update.

How to Downgrade

To downgrade to an earlier version of one our of beta tests, follow these steps:

1. Open up the TestFlight app, and tap the Previous Builds option, highlighted in red below.

2. A new screen will show up, showing all of the versions and builds available for you to try (see red section below). Tap on the version to see all of the builds available in it.

3. On the next screen you'll find a list of all of the builds you can install. At this point, simply push the INSTALL button next to the version you want to switch to, and the TestFlight app will take care of the rest.

We also strongly recommend turning on the Automatic Updates setting to ensure you're always on the latest version of the beta, as seen below in red. Unfortunately Apple forces all TestFlight builds to expire after 90 days, no way around that, so keeping this setting on means you won't need to remember to update.
