Square, is a mobile payment processing company. It allows users to handle and keep track of purchase transactions through their software and hardware offerings. Their software platform processes and manages the payment transactions and offers users a dashboard for inventory management, sales reporting, invoices, and more for their business. Additionally, Square ensures payments are secure and fully PCI compliant. Square's hardware offerings include products that connect to mobile devices to swipe credit cards and support NFC tap payments.
Square doesn't offer their own kiosk solution - just the payment processing side of things. That's where we come in! We're officially partnered with Square to bring self-order kiosks to all sizes of businesses, whether you're an individual operator or a large franchise company looking to help out your franchisees. We've got you covered.
Basically, KioskBuddy links up with your Square account so that we can import your item library into a customer-friendly format and send payments to that Square account. Then, you use the KioskBuddy Dashboard configure settings like styling, branding, and more to match the kiosk behavior to your business's operations. From here, you just load up the KioskBuddy app on an iPad and mount it in your shop/area and customers can order and pay all on their own.
As far as getting orders to your back of house staff, the most common way we see is receipt printers. We support most Star Micronics printers (Square sells a few on their website), the most common being the TSP100iii. You can find a full list of recommended printers here. Besides that, we also support kitchen display systems like KioskBuddy's own KDS, Square KDS, and Fresh KDS.
Whenever customers place an order, all of the payment info, funds, etc. is sent back to your Square account, and the order info is delivered to your staff for fulfillment. Think of KioskBuddy as an extension of the Square platform, or a new self-service ordering channel that you can add to your toolkit, just like online or mobile ordering!
