How do I print customer receipts and kitchen receipts?

Depending on your business needs, you will want to print customer receipts and/or kitchen receipts. KioskBuddy and Square POS allow you to customize your settings to print out the information you need for your different receipts. We will define a customer receipt vs. a kitchen receipt as the following:

• Customer Receipt: A receipt for your customer that typically displays all of the line items and prices.

• Kitchen Receipt: A receipt for your kitchen staff that typically displays only line items.

1. Connect your printer and select the correct printer for your customer receipts. Refer to this article section: How to connect your printer

2. The following settings are relevant for a customer receipt. You can enable the settings according to what you would like displayed on your customer receipts.

• Show prices on receipt

• Show subtotal on receipt

• Show taxes on receipt

• Show tips on receipt

• Show total on receipt

• Automatically append order numbers

• Show promo codes on receipt

• Show Square Loyalty reward on receipt

How to Configure a Kitchen Receipt in KioskBuddy link

1. Connect your 2nd printer and select the correct printer for your kitchen receipts. Refer to this article section: How to connect your printer

2. The following settings are relevant for a kitchen receipt. You can enable the settings according to what you would like displayed on your kitchen receipts.

• Enable individual copies for each item in the cart

• Automatically append order numbers

• Sort items by category name

• Custom Checkout Flow Steps

• Route Categories

How to Use Square POS for Receipts link

We recommended using Square's Order Manager to print orders through another iPad running Square POS (e.g. your cashier setup) instead of connecting each printer directly to the KioskBuddy app. To get started, please refer to this article: Sending Kiosk Orders to your Square POS.

After following the steps, your printer will automatically print kitchen receipts. If you would like to print customer receipts, follow the steps below.

1. Open your Square POS app.

2. Go to Settings > Hardware.

3. Tap on your printer.

4. Scroll down and find the section called Use this printer for.

5. Enable Receipts (Use this printer for receipts).

Optional: If your printer is using a WiFi connection, you may connect your printer to both Square POS and KioskBuddy. This would allow you to leverage KioskBuddy's customizable printer receipt settings.
