One likely important part of your business process is getting orders to your fulfillment staff. For physical receipts, KioskBuddy supports a variety of Star Micronics brand printer models. For a paperless solution, we support email receipts as well as Kitchen Display Systems for restaurant based businesses. (see: KioskBuddy KDS, Square KDS, or Fresh KDS)
KioskBuddy supports all Star Micronics brand printers, as long as the connection interface is either Bluetooth, Ethernet, or Wifi.
A note on USB printers: Unfortunately printers connected via the USB hub on the Square Stand will not be detected by KioskBuddy.
A note on Bluetooth printers: Bluetooth printers typically can only be connected to one device at a time, a one-to-one connection. If you have a Bluetooth printer that needs to be used by multiple kiosks, it is still possible to use these unsupported KioskBuddy printers by connecting the printer to your Square POS and sending KioskBuddy orders to your Square POS. See the section below: Printers Connected to Square POS.
The most common printers amongst our users are the TSP100III (thermal printer) or SP700 (impact printer).
Here at KioskBuddy, we test with the following models:
TSP100IIIB - This is a Bluetooth model (aka TSP143III).
TSP100IIILAN - This is an Ethernet model (aka TSP143III).
TSP100B - This is a Bluetooth model (aka TSP100 - note: this is the older version of the above models).
TSP143IVUW SK - This is a USB and WLAN sticky label printer model (aka TSP143IV SK)
SP700LAN - This is an Ethernet model (aka SP742).
MC-Print3 - This is an Ethernet and Bluetooth combo model (aka MCP31).
TSP654IISK - This is an Ethernet sticky paper printer. (This model has reached its end of life support by Star Micronics but will still function with KioskBuddy.)
If you have any printers connected to your Square POS, you can continue using your existing printer setup. As long as you have a working printer connection to your Square POS, you can send KioskBuddy orders over to your Square POS for printing. Then, your orders will print through Square POS instead of through KioskBuddy. The caveat here is that you will need another iPad running Square POS in addition to the iPad running KioskBuddy.
Here is a list of supported printers by Square POS:
Espon printers with a USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi connection
Star Micronics printers with a USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi connection
