KioskBuddy supports SMS text messaging with KioskBuddy's Kitchen Display System (KDS).
First, to add a phone number to an order, you'll want to set up a custom Checkout Flow in KioskBuddy. This is KioskBuddy's way to script out exactly what the customer needs to input to complete their order, just like training a cashier. Then, you'll be able to use KioskBuddy KDS to send a text to your customer. Follow the steps below!
Navigate to the Settings tab of the KioskBuddy Dashboard and scroll down to the Checkout Flow Section.
Push the NEW CHECKOUT STEP button.
Select Phone Number based checkout step.
Push NEXT.
Fill in the prompt similar to the screenshot below.
Important: Enable the options "Required input" and "Pass phone number to kitchen display systems". This way your customer will have to type in their phone number when they check out.
Once you've done the above steps to create a Checkout Step to collect a phone number, on your separate device, you can start KioskBuddy KDS mode to send a text!
Open KioskBuddy on your device.
Ensure you are on the KioskBuddy Configuration Home Screen. If you are in Kiosk Mode, exit out of Kiosk Mode.
Tap START KDS MODE button at the top to start KioskBuddy KDS.
Push SEND TEXT to send a text message to the phone number assigned to the order.
Note: On this page, only orders that have a phone number attached to it will have the button to send a text, as seen below in red.
